District Offices

Today I am visiting council offices in Easington as part of an ongoing tour of council buildings across the County.  It is important for both our staff and the public that reassurance is given that these buildings will remain an integral part of the new Unitary Council.

In the last couple of weeks we have already been to offices in Barnard Castle, Green Lane Spennymoor, Consett and Chester-le-Street  and the remaining offices will be visited in the next few days.

It is always valuable to talk to staff who are on the front line in terms of dealing with members of the public.  The visits have confirmed that the transition from 8 councils to one has, in general, been a smooth one but of course we are always working to try to make services even better.
